So let's think about our future. At some point, there will probably be a time when technology does just about everything for us without the need for humans to run the technology itself. We're already getting pretty close to that as it is. So what exactly is the issue with this? Jobs. Jobs would be the issue. Obviously there would be need for people to do maintenance and repairs and whatever else but at the same time, since technology would be doing all of the hard work for us, there wouldn't really be a need for jobs anymore(or at least, not nearly as much).
Usually when people think about our future with technology, they think of the movie Wall-E when you see a bunch of fat people staring at TV screens, riding around on chairs. As funny as that is, I really hope humanity doesn't end up becoming like that. Personally, I don't really think we would end up becoming like that, even if technology ended up taking over our lives. Let's think back to our history. Any time we had big technological advances, people were left with more leisure time. More time to do the things they want to do. After we had the industrial revolution, suddenly music became this big industry, more people were getting into the arts, our culture became more creative and lively because we didn't have to spend so much time working. We had more time to be ourselves. I don't think having technology do everything for us would necessarily make us fat slobs. If it did, then humans are the dumb ones, not technology. Personally, I think if we had technology take our jobs, we would be left with so much free time, we'd actually have time to be ourselves and go out there, actually play, be free spirited, and be little kids again. We'd actually have time to focus on other important things, like our planet, and space, expressing our uniqueness, and further expanding the human consciousness. Who knows, we could even possibly meet other advanced life forms other than the ones here on earth. We could even finally create world peace!
I already see another problem with this though. Jobs are pretty much what makes our economy work, so if we had technology doing everything for us, what would we do with our economy? There wouldn't be any need for money to pay workers because technology would be doing it for us, so our economy wouldn't be able to progress further. So obviously our Capitalism wouldn't work well in a highly technological advanced society. What other options are there? I wouldn't be able to necessarily come up with a whole new system, but I do have one idea that could help this situation out. Get rid of money. If we got rid of those pieces of paper and came up with a new type of system, a system that works well with advancing technologies, maybe we could progress in our technologies faster and smoothly without having to worry about what it's going to do to our economy.
These are just my thoughts on this though. Maybe you guys have other ideas for all of this. If you do, I'd like to hear about them!
I think the future of humanity is a bright one. We're just going to have to go through some rough patches to get there.
I love you all. Namasté <3
